P0505 Idle control circuit malfunction

No, this code would not be caused by a catalytic convertor being installed . But there are other components that can contribute to this code condition, Such as a broken air duct, carbon build up at the throttle body  , You can do a throttle body and a MAF cleaning along with the idle air control unit. This may just help resolve the situation
