P0011 Infiniti 2003 i35

Question

When I start the engine if I don't give it gas, it dies instantly. I've gotten into the habit of pressing the pedal automatically so I'm not sure if it dies after its warmed up. There's a weird, clanky noise on the passenger side. for a few seconds when it starts.

With the code you have I would first check the engine oil, then if it looks good replace the bank 1 cam position sensor. Even though there isn't a code for the sensor, the code is for the bank 1 intake valve timing solenoid. If the cam sensor isn't reading right then you will get this code. The clanky noise is usually caused by a leaking timing chain tensioner which is why checking the oil is a must.
