2007 Chevrolet Equinox with overheat condition

Question

Hi there I have a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox the condition I have is the dic will display engine over heat message the coolant fans are on ,the engine temp gauge reads cold or normal ,the coolant Is good, the vehicle has run 2 minuets from a cold start ,it does this randomly ,there is no engine light on ,do you have any idea what it could be,thanks
