P0420 Nissan - xterra

Question

I have two codes on my 2006 Nissan Xterra. P0430 and P0420, what does this mean, is it the O2 sensors or something more serious?

HI Gary,

In most cases when you have these codes the end result is converter replacement. Because these codes can sometimes be caused by other issues like fuel or the way the engine is running I normally clear them the first time around and if they continue to come back use a scan tool to check the rear O2 sensor readings and then if needed replace the converters.
