What 54 is is no cam signal during cranking.or no synchronization with the fuel injector to its cylinders, What happens in order to get this code condition is when you start the vehicle a random ignition is set and a random injector firing is set until the engine is started then the ECM uses the cam signal and synchronizes the fuel injector to its cylinder, without the synchronization the vehicle does not start up.
