Question

I now understand where it is and what it does but how important is it to city driving? I've already been quoted A LOT of money to have it fixed can it ride until I scare up the money? Other than the check engine light and bad gas milage what other issues can I expect?

You can run the car with this code. It's part of the intake manifold which is why the expense is there. As long as the engine is running good, you can drive the car. It will not damage anything else.
