Hello, I did a engine overhaul recently. I followed the instructions in my Haynes manual regarding the Camshaft Dowel Pins but i have a rough idle. The RPM gauge displays a steady idle though. I did a scanner for codes and it came up with P0011 (Camshaft Position Actuator A- Bank 1 Timing Over-Advanced) Could it be that I did not get the correct position on my camshafts? Wouldn't that cause the timing to be off if misplace the camshafts position? Thank you in advance!

Have you checked the timing?

Yes, it's possible that you may have not installed the camshaft correctly.

Make sure the Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve is properly working. The valve could advance or retard the timing if is stuck close or open.
