Hi..
My 1999 Toyota Camry w/110K miles had a check engine light on when I started it up. Code P0171 The car fired and then died - Check engine light came on. I had to give it a lot of gas to finally catch. - Check engine light remained. I have no hesitation but I have noticed that the idle when warm is just slightly down but not enough to stall engine. When I start the car now I give it more gas to catch..Car seems to run fine. What should be checked/replaced..? Thanks..
Some of the Camry LE models have a uses a MAF (mass airflow), if this model has a mass air flow check the air duct for any open , or torns, that can cause a false air and set a lean code condition. Here is a MAF system on a vehicle with a broke airflow duct , the engine was hard to start but yet accelerated real good, the only code was a P0171 , further inspection was needed Here was the cause of the lean code and the hard to start condition.
