P1131 Upstream H02S not switching at the adaptive limit (Rich or lean).

Vacuum leak right at the MAF (mass air flow) can cause this condition, or a improperly connected MAF air duct.. P1131 mean that Bank 1 Sesnor 1 is not switching, this is the upstream H02S sensor. As long as this is the only code and there is no P1151 or P1152 which is for Bank 2 then this is more likely the H02S sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1

The most common cause of P1131 or P1151 is the 02 sensor is not properly connected, This is usually for certain Ford product that 02 sensor connection is just to hard to reach in difficult tight spots. and just to make a proper connection is a workout. What the owner of this vehicle did was use a long screw diver to put the H02S together, believing he put the connection together,by pushing on a long screw driver handle. I can pull on the wire and by inspection I know its not connected.and it easily pulls out,

To make matter worse during his installation, he counted the amount of twist the 02 sensor would come out, and since this is a tight no room to get the 02 enviroment. he countered twisted the 02 sensor as a method of getting the 02 sensor in, This just complicated the matter. Alot of P1131 and P1151 or P1132 and even P1152 are more with the H02S sensor . poor connection
