P0171 Fuel trim lean Bank 1

P0172 Fuel trim lean Bank 2

Fuel pressure regulator can cause this , a vacuum leak at the regulator where there is no vacuum to the regulator at idle can cause a rich condition, or can a leaking fuel regulator cause this.

Here a Ford that was check for a P0172 and a P0171, what was check was the fuel pressure regulator, at idle there was no vacuum for the fuel regulator.

The problem was fix when a vacuum hose for the fuel regulator was found to be broken restoring vacuum line solved P0171 and P0172
