Replaced crankshaft position sensor as per code P0335. '96 626 2.0 manual trans. The old sensor's 700 ohm coil resistance reading was same as the new sensor's coil reading. Two harness leads read 5 volts each with ignition on. Replaced distributor's rotor. New battery. Code always stayed off while driving. Adjusted timing a bit advanced and then a bit retarded. No change. Code only pops back on right after engine start up. Starter cranks as well as it always has. I did a clutch snub test to kill engine and then a pop-the-clutch test (down hill grade) to restart engine without using key. Code instantly comes back when idle is reached. Idle steady. Engine runs like a Swiss watch. What is causing the code to pop up right after start up? It can’t be the starter because a pop-the-clutch start test was done.
P0335 Crankshaft postion sensor "A" circuit malfunction
The OHMS for this should be 520 - 580 ohms.
