This code is coming up on my daughter's car. Her inspection is due. She has been told that once this air fuel ratio sensor is replace she will need to drive her car 100 miles before it will pass inspection. Is this true?

Yes it true, the reason why they say 100 miles is somewhere in the 100 miles you will meet the readiness monitor drive criteria.

Here what the readiness monitor will look like on a typical scan tool. There has to be no DTC (diagnostic trouble code) no CK ENG LT on. The catalytic monitor will be ready. the H02S monitor will be ready, and for your vehicel it needs to have a EGR ready, and the EVAP should be at the ready.
