I have a year 2000 VW Beetle and fault code P0112 comes up on my code reader . The car starts ok but throttle response is nil some times and if you need it to rev you have to put your foot on the pedal slowly but when I disconnect the MAF sensor connector the car response is great . The car is a 2.0 petrol with 87k on the clock and has always been kept well serviced .
Has anybody had this's problem before and would a replacement Maf unit cure it as I think the intake air temp is built into the unit ?.

Vehicle: 2000 ,Volkswagen ,Beetle, 2.0

P0112 Intake air temperature circuit low

The intake air temperature may not be built into  the MAF unit, look at the front grill area this year Make and Model had some IAT sensor at the front grill area.
