P0500 Toyota -Corolla Spacio, import not changing to top gear and putting warning lights on

2004 automatic Corolla spacio, handbrake warning light started glowing for about a week then the car won't change into top gear when driving. EML light comes on at 40 to 50kms. Handbrake warning now on all the time full, PS light on now, steering heavier but not gone, eml on every time you hit above speed. No OD button difference. Any ideas where to start ?
