U1001 Nissan - 2004 quest

I have a 04 quest and the code it is throwing is U1001 and the instrument gauges come on and off on the dash

The U1001 code means that there is a problem with the Control Area Network (CAN). The Engine Control Module (ECM) is not communicating with another control unit. Since the instrument gauges are coming ON and OFF, then it's more than likley that the problem is the intrument gauges itself. I suggest contating you local dealer to diagnose this problem, CAN codes are a bit more complicated to diagnose than regular codes.
