When the airfilter was installed , is the MAF air duct properly connected,? No rips or tears in the MAF airduct. When it comes to air filter all manufactuer that produces air filter has to apply a fire retardant on the air filter. The fire retardant tends to lean out the MAF which can cause P0170 or P0171.Doing a MAF cleaning helps resolves the code for lean conditions

In this picture the airfilter is to the right, any tear or rips after the MAF is air that is unaccounted and this will cause a lean code condition. so it is important that there be no false air.
