Hello:this is Allen from Artistic Fits ltd. I"m having some problems to correct the PO430 code that keeps showing up. To date l have changed out the four o2 sensors, changed the spark plugs, cleaned the air intake, changed the spark plug wires, checked for exhaust leaks, have no idling or power issues, but one thing came to mind . l have changed the factory muffler to a Magnaflow muffler, wondering if this might create a back flow issues, might the computer have to be reset, because of back flow issues. Best regards Allen.
P0430 Catalytic below efficiency Bank 2
The CK ENG LT program is designed to protect the catalytic convertor and the catalytic convertor is to protect the enviroment from harmful emission emiitted into the atmosphere. If you rearrange any emission component from the front on the catalytic this is known as modified or tampered.
If you change anything after the catalytic convertor such as the muffler nothing will happen, there is no back flow effect at all. just sound. According to certain state regulation you own every part of your vehicle, But what you do not own is the catalytic convertor it is a protected device. So prior to the catalytic is limited to what you can do without altering the OBD II. Anything after the catalytic you can do . Your code P0430 was not caused by magna flow.
