Can this be the problem code p0340

Question

It will not start right up like before and like I said while driving if I go over 2,500 rpm's the engine surges so I have to back off the gas and let it slowly gain rpm. other it just surges over 2.5 rpms. The code I was told 340

P0340 Camshaft position sensor circuit malfunction

A failing camshaft position sensor can do this , the camshaft sensor synchronizes the fuel injector with its respective cylinders.
