2000 Acura tl. P1399 code. Replaced the erg valve and still get the same code. Any clues
P1399 Random misfire
When one cylinder misfire it can set all the cylinder to misfire on a Acura. P1399 is more of a induction code,The EGR will not cause a P1399. Bad fuel or water in the fuel, can cause P1399 which is more a temporary code.
Here is one non- operational coil that set all cylinder to code a misfire condition. It ran rough at load but not at idle.
What contribute to the random misfire is the EGR. What the EGR does is use inert gas (exhuast gas that does not support combustion) , Because there is a misfire at one cylinder, instead of inert gas that the EGR is going to use. the inert gas now support combustion , It now mixes the non- inert gas to different cylinder this throw the air to fuel ratio off.and that clylinder misfires, and it becomes progressive to other cylinders.
P1399 is not going to be caused by the EGR system . unless this is a 4 cylinder vehicle with EGR port, and it not going to be remedy by a valve adjustment. or set by a timing issue. The fix do inductive cleaning, or add a fuel injector cleaner to the fuel tank.
