P0720 Acura - '04 Acura MDX - countershaft speed sensor, refurbished trans: warranty or no?

Just had the transmission refurbished, and the P0720 code came up a week or so afterward.Shop farmed it out to a transmission specialist shop, now says it might be 'external' to the trans, and if so, on my dime. What is the likelihood of that?

Is the code by itself? P0720 after a refurbished transmission , this is more likely a intermittent conditon dealing with its circuit. With the MDX P0720 can not be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission it is a electrical problem or its circuits.
