I got the code P0700 on my 2004 Dodge Dakota 4.7L V8 4x4, is there a way to narrow this down?

The problem with this code is it basically means there is a transmission code stored in the TCM. You need to have a scan tool that can read the transmission codes, most OBDII code readers will not do this.
