I'm purchasing a 2009 Wrangler and the check engine light is on.
The owner sent me an invoice from his mechanic that said it was a P0620 code.
(P0620 Generator Control Circuit Malfunction) He replaced the battery and cleared the code. Should I be concerned there may be a deeper problem?
The words "Generator Control Circuit Malfunction" seem concerning.

I coud see why they changed the battery. Because it's not getting charged from a more internal problem. Or would a dead battery trigger that code as well?

Any thoughts??

I checked the Jeep factory service manual, and there is no information for the P0620 code. That means that Jeep doesn’t use that code, so the code the mechanic got is either wrong or the scanner was not compatible with Jeep vehicles.

After replacing the battery all the codes will clear, but that doesn't mean that the problem was fixed.

You have to drive the vehicle more, to verify the problem is fixed.
