P1106 Jaguar XJ12

Code P1106 - MAP Sensor - This is a V12 6.0 engine and I replaced both 2 sensors, all hoses and 2 vacumn filters but I still have a code of P1106 after several test of drive cycle. Need help and advise from those expert and jaguar lover. Thank you in advance and I really appreciate it.

P1106 MAP sensor range perfromance fault (Bank B)

This is a common code condition that deals with the throtte linkage adjustment . Do the Check and adjustment of the thottle.

Check & Adjust
 

 

• Remove intake elbow-left hand.
• Remove intake elbow-right hand.
• Disconnect throttle rods from bellcrank ball pins and swing aside.
• Slacken butterfly stop screw lock nut.
• Actuate linkage to ensure correct operation.
• Open butterfly disc.
• Insert a 0.002" feeler gauge between disc and housing.
• Adjust stop screw to obtain the correct gap (Gap should be even at top and bottom of disc).
• Tighten the screw locknut.
• Open butterfly.
• Remove feeler gauge.
• Actuate linkage to ensure correct operation.
• Repeat operation for the other butterfly.
• Slacken bottom lever clamps to shafts securing nuts/bolts.
• Ensure butterfly levers are against the throttle stops.
• Ensure bellcrank levers are against their stops.
• Tighten bottom lever clamps to shafts securing nuts/bolts.
• Connect throttle rods from bellcrank ball pins.
• Slacken throttle rod adjustment locknuts
• Adjust throttle rod lengths so that pulley can open 0.020"-0.030" with the butterfly levers against stops.
• Tighten pulley stop screw locknut.
• Open pulley to full throttle.
• Adjust stop screw to limit pulley travel to just before first butterfly lever can touch the manifold.
• Tighten pulley stop screw lock nut.
• Gently return pulley against stop and refit intake elbows.
