P0340 Mitsubishi -

Question

My Mitsubishi Montero 96 It was giving me trouble turning on when they scan gave me the code p0335 (Crankshaft position sensor), I buy it and install new sensor. Stars the engine but will not accelerate and fails too. I scan again and give me another code p0340 (camshaft position sensor), I visited some autoparts , but they tell me I have to buy the full ignition because the camshaft position sensor don't sell alone, I understand that this piece is in the ignition. where I can get it, to solve the problem I have in my Montero.

Hi there,

This is part of the distributor and you cannot get it without getting the distributor. You could purchase a used distributor and try to change the sensor, but I would check the timing belt. It might be out of time and causing the code.
