P0183 Ford - crown victoria

car drives fine but the code p 0183 came out is it a sensor or a fuel pump

The code is for the fuel rail temp sensor. This usually means that you will need to replace the fuel temp sensor. It does not mean the car needs a new fuel pump and normally will function properly but the fuel mixture is messed up because it doesn't know the temp.
