I've replaced the purge valve, canister and vent valve on the side of canister, and have blown out all lines (disconnected of course) between tank, canister, and fill hose. Pumping gas is only a little at a time as pump keeps cutting on and off. The engine light never kicked off except when I started getting a rough idle and the code for cyl 2 misfire went off. Maybe an O2 sensor is causing all the problems?

HI there,

It sounds like you have a short to ground on the vent control valve wiring. You won't get a code because it does the self test by closing the valve. This will make the computer think there isn't any problem. The only thing that would make sense is a short to ground on the signal wire. This would close the valve all the time.
