r 0101 Nissan - infiniti qx56

Question

Truck seems to be running a bit rough but not really noticeable, problem is after I warm truck up and shortly after I put it in drive. The rpm drops to zero and yet still works but obvious is not correct reading. Now I've looked online I've learned to do a self test where I hold the odometer button and turn key to just before start andthe code r 0101 seems to come up. Please can someone shed some light on this issue? I'd like to fix this before it creates a bigger problem
