P1299 Ford - I drive a 2007 Ford Focus, and have been experiencing jolting and bad shaking while driving and while parked. The temperature dial has been showing that the engine is very hot, but it's not there for long before it goes back to the center. It's getting very difficult to drive and I don't really have any money to get it fixed, but if anyone has an idea what's wrong, that would be really helpful.

Vehicle: Ford Focus, 2007, ?

P1299 Engine overheats

You have coolant loss. When the engine is cold or when the radiator is comfortable to touch ( this means it not hot) you can open the radiator cap, check the cap, check that the seal are not broken and check for any coolant leaks and if necessary fill the radiator with coolant or water and keep if full also fill the coolant resovoir. Here is a vehicle that came in with a overheating condition , the radiator was low . it had a overheating  problem the was no other leaks at the radiator or its hose, the only loss of fluid was at the coolant resovoir tank that kept overfilling and spilling out  the fix. was to replace the radiator cap , Chech the radiator cap and replace if in doubt about its condition
