My 2003 Honda Civic is flashing the engine code P1705 and sometimes accelerates itself. what could be the problem?

P1705 Short in transmission range (TR)  circuit

With P1705 the the TR has a short which will result in a flashing "D" light with no transmission gear engagement. Here is P1705 with a Honda Civic the vehicle transmission would not engage the only fix in this case was the replacement of the TR sensor.
