P0440 Chrysler -

Question

I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring with check engine light on code P0440. What is this and can I fix it myself and/or will it hurt my car to drive it till I can afford to fix it?

Hi there,

You can continue to drive the car safely with this code. Trying to repair it on your own will be difficult because it's a system failure code, but without testing the entire emissions system there is no way to know what exactly has failed.

I would suggest having a shop diagnosing the problem then doing the repair on your own to save some money.
