no power to s wire

put a new starter on car that was bad old one i hit with bar started when i put new one on it had no power to s wire if i jump starter it will start put new key switch and still nothing dash lights com on

Move the gear selector from Park to low gear , up and down doing this quickly then in park hold the key in the start position for at least 10 seconds. It should then crank. Here is a story a customer came to the shop Same year make and model. I go  the car to start and move the vehicle and it would not start and no crank, So I ask what do you do to start the vehicle, she gets in Move the gear selector from Park to the low gear rapidly several times. Then holds the key in the start position and it starts. The vehicle only came in for front brakes , the owner did not want the problem fix or diagnosed just the brake job.
