I just bought a 2011 Chevrolet Cruz that has 31K miles on it. I didn't even get home and the check engine light came on. I had the codes checked because I can't bring it in until several days from now. I have been trying to see if there has been any issues with this vehicle and this code or if this is such a serious issue that I need to return the car and look for a new one. Any suggestions or concerns about this code on a car with 31K only for mileage? It threw two codes U0140 and P0016.

Vehicle: 2011, Chevrolet, Cruz

P0016 Crankshaft position-intake camshaft position not plausible

This depends on the engine type if this is a P0016 means the cam and crank are not line up properly this can be due to the camshaft actuator solenoid. the repair is not too expensive that only if it is caused by the camshaft solenoid. If the camshaft solenoid does not fix the code condition. the timing is off ,r If you have a 1.4 turbo this would be the timing chain. If this is a 1.8 this would be the the timing belt.
