Hello,
I'm having a bad time with my 1999 328i E46 BMW.
It gets a Signal Inlet Camshaft Position Sensor code, the sensor has been changed, the harness rebuild but the code still there.
My mechanic says that the problem lies on the ECU, and he wants to change some internal parts of the ECU to solve the problem.
I'm not very sure that the problem is there, could the only symptom of a bad ECU is the CPS code?
I got some very strange symptoms.
The engine leaks of power, specially in hot summer days (It never get this loss of power on the morning with a completely cold engine), sometimes I run with the car all day with no problem, sometimes the problem comes up but just turning the car off and on again it goes away.
I'm not sure if that is really my ECU, the new sensor that came with problem or something else.
