I got the engine code P0017 on my Chevrolet, It's a chain, not a belt?

This also depends on the engine , P0017 are most due to variable timing solenoids, either stuck open or stuck closed, There are some models that are caused by the timing chain tension and these would have TSB,Here is a BMW with a P0017 caused by the timing chain tension breaking the jump chain guide.
