p0740 code - for two months. Local Mechanic and dealer said no apparent problem. AT Oil temp light comes on at 55 mph but with local driving just have CEL. Have been told by both to just drive it but am concerned about damage - as well as not being able to get inspected or to sell.

Can you advise?

P0740 Torque convertor clutch (TCC) circuit malfunction

If the transmission oil temperature light comes on the transmission will not give TCC so this is the reason for the code condition. To access the transmission temprature sensor the transmission pan would have to be removed, there the temperature sensor can be replaced.
