P0504 - 2005 Chevy Colorado P/U, what is issue and correction required?

engine light on and state inspection due now, code presented is P0 504 and said to be idle air issue? any any advise would be greatly appreciated!

P0504 Use a different scan tool to get this code, P0504 has a wide range code for the colorado. The colorado does not use a P0504 code, How a code is gather is when a scan tool is connected to the ECM , the scan tool becomes a module, What ever code is requested by the scan tool the ECM sends it, What ever code is in the ECM is matched up to what code defintiion is store in your scan tool. and then it is displayed. P0504 differs from a automatic transmission to a manual transmission, , The code you have is not correct for the Colorado.
