2007 corolla check engine is on for about 15 months reset to pass last inspection. now its showing 2 issues after reset and driving around. then the cel comes back on. car has 117000 miles. code shows p0420 How to remedy

P0420 90% of the time means the catalytic converter is bad if there is no issues with the engine.
