Start by checking to see if there are any loose, broken or cracked hoses near the engine bay and near the EVAP canister. This is pretty common for older cars.

also the evap sensors or solenoid can be clogged along with hoses, so you can use compressed air to blow through hoses which you can disconnect one by one

Possible causes
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve stuck closed
- EVAP control system pressure sensor and the circuit
- Loose, disconnected or improper connection of rubber tube
- Blocked rubber tube
- Cracked EVAP canister
- EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve circuit
- Closed throttle position switch
- Blocked purge port
- Closed throttle position switch
