P0128 BMW -

hi i,m at my third thermosthat this one is not leaking ....get hot at idle in wamr garage but tempeture gage goes down will driving in cold weather.....mecanic saw old code in computer but it is not showing on cluster because was erase after first replacement ......do i have to have it completly erase in computer car....could it be the problem.....radiator fan run ok ...heatercore also....
