my 97 ram van codes for the ECT I find the single wire but can't find the 2 wire sensor.

Question

The engine dies once it reaches operational temp.

I've replaced the single wire temperature probe but still have a PO118 code and can't find what I'm assuming is a 2 wire ECT.

P0118 Coolant temperature sensor circuit high input

Circuit high are mostly poor or open connection, The signal wire was the more than likely the  temperature indicator for the gauge. You should have 2 temperature indicator one for the gauge and one for the computer.
