P0766 2008 Scion xb

I have 2008 Scion xB and it won't shift into 4th gear and the code is p0766 and says solenoid D stuck/performance can anybody please help me I can do repairs myself so if anybody can share some info on how to fix this

P0766 Shift solenoid D perfromance

If you want to replace the shift solenoid D or what is called the shift solenoid valve 4 (S4). you access the S4 by removing the transmission pan and its filter there you can access the S4.

The S4 is part of the valve body, when you have P0766 it due to its either plugged, non functional , the torque convertor assembly, or mechanical of the transaxle.

Replacing this solenoid the transmission fluid has to be ATF WS. the appropriate fluid has to be used, and the transmission has to go through a relearn process this is done by the use of a factory grade scan tool, if that scan tool is not available, just disconnect the battery.
