My Nissan Altima 2005 4 cylinder Sedan just started slowing down on the road and displayed "check engine soon" I pulled over. Turned off the

engine and had it towed to my local repair shop.

The diagnostics indicated a P1217 Engine Over Temperature (Overheat). It was suggested that I replace the radiator. Then it would not start.

What would cause it to not start?

Thanks in advan

Vehicle: 2005, Nissan, Altima L4-2.5L

how long did you drive with the car overheating? (the temp needle on hot)

I would check compression but the headgaskets on the 2.5L Altima's are easily damaged
