Question

Car was low on coolant i added coolant and my heat does not work once i give it gas heat starrs throwing hot air

if the car was really low on coolant that mean you probably have air in the cooling system which will cause the car to overheat.

start the car and turn on the heater (turn off A/C), this will remove the air from the system due to coolant running through the heater core.

let the car idle for 20min or so, can hold the gas pedal at 2k rpm every 5 min or a min or so

you can then drive with the heater on for 5 miles or so.
