I have a 2004 Nissan maxima with p0500 and p1574. Speedometer is not working.

This code is for a problem with the speed signal. This vehicle using signals from the ABS wheel speed sensors, and the abs computer to generate the speed. So, if you don't have an abs light on it's likely the instrument panel itself.

P1574 is a code for the cruise control. The cruise control won't work without the speedometer. Repair that and the cruise should begin working again.
