Question

What are the chances this code is just due to dirty oil? I don't have a lot of money and was thinking of starting with an oil change to and change filters

Yes it can be due to poor oil maintance and even low oil. It can also be intermittent, you can change oil and clear the code. If it returns then it is a failing  solenoid, What happens debris make the valve get stuck and the only fix is to remove and replace it, that why the oil maintance is important, You cannot remove and clean out the debris what happens is the solenoid tends to break upon removal and a wood screw is used to remove the rest of the solenoid.
