P0455 KIA -

Question

I have codes po455 and po456 showing I can smell gas fumes now and then both codes show basically same thing my question is where to start 2008 kia sportage

Hi there,

This code is usually caused by a faulty closed canister valve (ccv). Usually you can remove it and test it. If it's working as it should, then the next step has to be a smoke test to try and determine the area that is leaking. To test the ccv, simply remove it, then add power and ground to the valve. You should hear a clicking sound when you add the power then hit it with the ground. If there isn't any clicking then it's no good and should be replaced.
