p2471 hard code, what could cause?

have a recurring (hard fault) causing a p2471 code show up. it will not clear. any ideas as to where to start looking?

P2471 Exaust gas temperature sensor circuit high Bank 1 Sensor 4

Anytime there is a circuit high code this is a open connection or even a disconnection at the sensor. The job for the ECM is to look for open circuit, short circuit , grounded circuit, and rationality. It either a disconnection of the exhaust temperature sensor or a failed sensor.
