I received a code of p1188 and purchased the part for replacement but I am having difficulty in locating where this installs.

There is a recall from BMW for oxygen sensor issues the computer needs to be updated, not sure if this was ever done on the car.

You can call a local BMW and check with the VIN number to see if the car qualifies for the recall
