check engine light will not go off even after I have cleared it. what could be the possible problem and why won't the light go off

P0016 Crankshaft / Camshaft timing misalignement

In order to clean the code for Dodge or Chrysler the engine has to be off and the key on. If you clear the code and it comes back this is a hard code. The timing chain can be faulty causing this condition . another cause would be a faulty cam sensor or cranksensor
