I have a 2006 chevy malibu 3 recalls waiting on parts. This is going on 6 months This is also when I began having transmission problems. One recall I s the transmission shift cable. Went to get smog and got P0757. Shift solenoid B stuck on. I called chevy before I went to get smog and asked if my recalls would affect my smg results and was told they had nothing to do with the emissions. I did my research and I beg t differ. Am I wrong. Please advise, back when I noticed the sluggishness I took it to meineke for an oil change and transmission service. For about a month it was great again then it began leaking tranny fluid. Could the flush have made it worse. My question for you is, What happens when a transmission shift cable fractures? What would cause my tranny fluid to start leaking? I honestly feel that chevy should recall the complete transmission for the 2006 malibu ltz 6 cylinder. This car specifically. 6 months ago when notified of recalls I already felt the trans wasn't 100% so that's when I had it serviced.
Now it's not shiftng past 2nd. New trannys are ridiculously expensive.

Does not seem like a shift cable recall has anything to do with the issue inside the transmission, if your vehicle's applies to the recall, you should get it taken care off.

Transmission flush make things worst. They will "clean" all the dirty but in reality they move the dirty around and cause it to get stuck inside the shift solenoids

transmission fluid should be just drained (no flushes) and filter should be replaced every 30k miles to avoid costly repairs.

I would argue with the dealer, there is no car manufacturer that recommends transmission flushes.

dealers are usually the ones that "sell/recommend" them since they can charge alot more for the service.

P0757  2-3 shift solenoid (SS) valve performance - No third or fourth gear

The Recall 14V224000 A/T shift cable replacement, What this is about is the transmission gear shift may not match the the indicated gear, So yes this is part of the code p0757. Have the leak check if it is comming from the transmission vent, the transmission is over . and it would be from the shift cable. You now have to resolve this through customer satisfaction. You can call the GM phone number 1800-553-6000.
